The Mission

Women unlimited is committed to doubling the

percentage of women entrepreneurs in the UK from

17% to 34% over the next 20 years!

At Women Unlimited we are passionate about supporting women in their journey to create and sustain a successful business either as a sole trader or limited company. This will be delivered through a number of outlets; from an online community and inspirational events and workshops in the first operating year to business clubs, publications and enterprise clubs for young women in the following years.

Our motivation to support women in their quest for self employment and business ownership, offer ideas and solutions to not just business issues, but also specific women life / business issues and create a support network through both online and offline channels.

Women unlimited – why the need?

We are at the start of a revolution where women are taking control of their own lives and moving into positions of leadership in large corporations and in their own businesses.

There is a gap in the UK market for a community website that is built around the woman entrepreneur, particularly one that takes a holistic perspective. Women only networking groups are cropping up all over the country, the UK and European governments are actively supporting female entrepreneurship and women in the UK are looking for alternatives to getting a job as a means of contributing to the family income.

Women in the USA are twice as likely to be entrepreneurially active as women in the UK. A third of women surveyed would start a business if it wasn’t for fear of failure. The things that stop women from taking the plunge generally is fear, lack of confidence and lack of support. Women unlimited addresses these issues and provides an outlet for showing women how to both start and grow their own businesses and giving them a place to congregate and share their concerns and offer theirr support. This community support ethos will be pervasive through all the Women unlimited ventures.

Our Network – the foundation

It is our objective at Women unlimited to show women through stories, examples, community and information how to start and grow their business from and idea to fruition.

We aim to take away the fear and provide a place where women can ask questions and engage with other women who are already succeeding in business.

When women start their own business, their motivations are complex. They are often financially motivated and looking for independence, while wanting the flexibility to fulfil other commitments such as caring for children and family. We will help women work to their strengths and offer advice and support around the other areas of their lives so that they can achieve the balance that is right for them.

Interaction through case studies, interviews and seminars with women that have achieved incredible success to women who are happily earning a part-time income, are the key to building and igniting this specialist and amazing, business community.

Women unlimited – our future

Women unlimited supports the whole woman, not just the business woman. Initially this will be online and through our conference events, but we aim to take the brand to a community level through business clubs and girls enterprise clubs in the next 2 years. We are planning to start a foundation to support cultural change in the UK in the areas of women realising their potential, finding their voice and taking control of their earning ability through their own skills and ideas.

Women unlimited are passionate about changing the way that women work and use their skills in the UK.

Women unlimited will be a catalyst for change and we will work in partnership with other business support groups and networks that support entrerpreneuralism. We will become a conduit for women to support groups, networks, resources and facilities that can help them achieve their aims; whether that be to start their own home-based business or build a million pound company. This is an incredibly exciting time for women in business, with so much potential for growth and Women unlimited are going to be at the forefront of that change.
