Julie Hall

Founder

Women Unlimited has become my purpose and passion, specifically helping women support themselves and their families through creating a sustainable business. I came from a marketing and HR background before launching my web design company Springmedia in 2001. Springmedia is a successful boutique web and design agency based in South West London with a range of small business clients. Running Springmedia has given me an insight into internet based businesses and communities and the technology behind them.

I first became self employed in January 2000, starting out as a headhunter. While I was successful with that and it was very lucrative, I really didn’t enjoy the work that I was doing. I taught myself HTML and a graphics design package in October 2001 and Springmedia was born. I now have two gorgeous children, both under 5 and a very patient and wonderful husband. In July 2007 I decided to ramp up Springmedia and discovered relationship networking. And what a revelation that was! Within 6 months I had doubled my turnover from previous years and this year I am on target to quadruple it. It was this experience that forms part of the motivation for Women Unlimited as I hadn’t realised what I didn’t know. So I am building Women Unlimited to share the stories and successes of other women that are out there, doing it and many of them raising families at the same time. To create a place where women can ask questions, find support and information that can help them succeed in their own businesses and their own lives. Louise Chuter

Sales and Marketing

After starting her career working for 3 years as a journalist for the Independent, Louise has gained experience across a broad range of roles in the publishing and advertising marketplace. She has worked as a media buyer as well as a Sales and Marketing Manager for a very successful industry magazine, Call Centre Focus. Louise left Call Centre Focus to launch her own publication, Contact Centre Management in 2000 where she gained experience as a publication editor and was a strong competitor in this marketplace for 3 years. Following the dominance of the internet, Louise now successfully runs two portal websites for the Call Centre industry, Contactcentrejobs.co.uk and Contact Centre Link. Louise has managed to do all this while raising her daughter as a single mother. She is an inspiration to me, and those that know her. Gail Neilen

PR, Marketing and Communications

Gail is the communications guru behind Women Unlimited. Gail has over twenty years in the healthcare industry with her final role being Communications Director for IMS Health. Her career has spanned in-house roles in sales, marketing and communications within the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical industry as well as numerous years in medical education and healthcare business communication. Gail passionately believes in professional and personal self development and the impact of emotional intelligence within organisations. Gail has a diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and currently following her dream to become a business and personal coach. Gail is also a single mum raising a very talented 16 year old boy and launching a new business called Shine On, helping women become more confident both on the inside and out. Sonja Hewett

Style Define Events

Sonja has been in the hospitality industry for eleven years; Her passion for event planning stems from that. Her ‘repertoire’ includes a position at one of the most prestigious wine farms in South Africa where she was part of a team that organised and managed many events including weddings, private parties as well as launch events for BMW and Estée Lauder. After coming to the UK, she worked as a private dining manager for a venue that specialised in weddings and parties but after two years, she decided to channel my expertise and enthusiasm into her own event management business and Style Defined Events was born.

Tracey Rissik

Affiliate Manager

Tracey worked in various IT roles for 20 years, moving into the telecommunications industry when she moved to the UK from South Africa in 1997. In 2007 she took the chance to start her own business when the team she managed was outsourced. She feels this was the best opportunity that could have come along, as she has learned so much from many courses and seminars; she has met a tremendous group of people through networking, and is in charge of her own path.

Tracey loves helping people and taking the fear out of everyday use of the internet, and combined with her years in IT, the next logical step was to set up “The Simple Web Company”. The aim of the company is to help small businesses and sole traders who want a website, and simply don’t how or where to start. The result: a simple affordable solution that gives you a good-looking website in a couple of days!

Tracey’s longer term plans include running workshops for “terrified technophobes” and creating online resources to help people get the most out of their websites. The Simple Web Company
